Forge Services

Custom Metalcraft Services, Shaped to Your Vision

From hand-forged ironwork to precision CNC cutting, every project at Lantern Forge is built by people who still love the strike of hammer on steel. Tell us what you need — we’ll forge it.

What We Forge

Six disciplines under one roof

Each piece passes through a workshop where welders, blacksmiths, machinists, and finishers share a single bench. That’s how a gate, a sculpture, and a structural bracket can all leave the same door — built right.

Custom Welding & Fabrication

TIG, MIG, and stick welding for structural frames, architectural assemblies, and one-off prototypes. We work in mild steel, stainless, and aluminum with full penetration on every joint.

TIG MIG Stainless Aluminum

Traditional Blacksmithing

Hand-forged railings, gates, hooks, fireplace tools, and sculptural iron. Every hammer mark is intentional — we leave the texture that machine work cannot fake.

CNC Plasma & Laser Cutting

High-precision cutting from your drawings, our drawings, or a sketch on the back of a napkin. Tolerances to 0.005″ on plate up to 1″ thick, in any shape the file allows.

DXF / STEP Up to 1″ Plate & Sheet

CNC Machining & Milling

3-axis milling for brackets, hardware, replacement parts, and small production runs. We hold tight tolerances on aluminum, brass, stainless, and engineering plastics.

Finishing & Surface Treatment

Powder coating, hot-blackening, oil-rubbed bronze, hand-patina, and brushed or mirror polish. We finish what we build, and we build to last through it.

Design & Engineering

Concept sketches, CAD modeling, and structural load calculations for clients who have a vision but need help making it real. We work from a reference photo as easily as a full drawing set.

The Process

From spark to finished piece

Every commission follows the same four-beat rhythm. It keeps surprises out of the budget and quality in the work.

01

Consult & Quote

We start with a 30-minute call, a sketch, or a marked-up photo. Within five business days you receive a written quote with materials, timeline, and a clear scope.

02

Design & Prototype

CAD drawings, full-scale cardboard templates, or 3D-printed mockups — whichever fits the project. Nothing moves to cutting until you sign off on the geometry.

03

Forge & Build

Cut, machined, welded, hammered, and assembled in our shop. We send progress photos at every major milestone so you can see your piece take shape.

04

Finish & Deliver

Surface treatment, hardware, final inspection, and white-glove delivery or on-site installation anywhere in the region. We don’t consider a job done until it’s installed.

Why Lantern Forge

A workshop built on three promises

Custom metalwork is unforgiving — a sloppy weld shows, a wrong alloy cracks. We don’t ship either.

Master-Craft, Not Mass-Production

Every order is built by a named maker, on a named bench. We take on a limited number of commissions each month so quality never has to compete with throughput.

One Quote, No Surprises

The number on the proposal is the number on the invoice. If something changes, we tell you first and put it in writing. We’ve never closed a project over a billing dispute.

Materials We Stand Behind

Mill-certified steel, name-brand alloys, and finishes rated for the environment you’re putting them in. Marine-grade near the coast, food-grade in the kitchen, structural-rated where it counts.

Client Notes

What it’s like to work with us

A few words from the architects, builders, and homeowners we’ve partnered with.

We brought Lantern Forge a pencil drawing of a stair railing and a strict timeline. They sent back shop drawings in a week, fabricated in three, and installed without a single change order. That almost never happens in our world.

Mara Reyes Principal, Reyes & Co. Architects

I’ve had three gates built for different properties. The Lantern Forge gate is the only one people stop to ask about. The scrollwork, the patina, the way it swings — it feels like it was always there.
